Sweden are not less neutral than Switzerland so it doesn't matter...anyway, it definitely not the reason for coming in last... | | | | | Maybe the voters got Sweden and Switzerland mixed up?

Beside the neutrality I don't understand why people mix up Switzerland and Sweden, they have very little things in common...

(They're both in Europe and both start with "Sw"? )

Inside the EU, Sweden, Finland, Austria and Ireland are NEUTRAL countries. And while Switzerland basically could join ANY military pact upon a positive popular vote, Finland and Austria cannot .

It was AWFUL, and none of us were surprised to see CH come in last place!

Tom | | | | | I think it was the same show. I found her performance good, and might have expected her to get a rank in the upper half (6th or 7th or 8th place). As usual in case of Swiss contributions, the "show" in regard to overall-entertainment was meagre. Many rather dull songs offered far more in regard to entertainment. Somebody ought to tell our chaps and girls in charge that we no longer are in the 1960ies ! and that TV has gone colours | This user would like to thank Wollishofener for this useful post: | |

You say that as if people aren't likely (or even allowed?) to have different opinions and taste in music.
I really enjoyed the Swiss song but it was an extremely low key performance. I think even with such a simple song, they could have made more of a "show" of it and that's a big part of what went wrong. Looking at the performance of the song in other venues, it's the same (rather dull) and I looked at some clips of their busking and it also is pretty much the same. So, I think with some performance coaching, she'll do a lot better as her career goes but for the case of the song contest, the simple performance was simply not enough.
The song from Bosnia-Herzegovina wasn't much different with regard to simple and easy going... but the performance itself was a lot better and they scored very well.
Another thing that came up regarding Anna Rossinelli's performance was that she'd wanted to wear a different dress on the night of the finals. She wasn't permitted due to technical limitations (not allowed to change lighting and whatnot that was rehearsed set for the red dress). The red dress was a bit "meh" in the first place, especially compared to the black she'd wanted for finals... maybe if she'd gone with the "flashier" (read: showing more skin) black dress, she may have done better over all.

Tom | | | | | I agree. Poor stage presence, poor outfit, poor lyrics and it was as dull as a wet Sunday. If you ever have had the utter misfortune to have to listen to DRS3 and the garbage they to try to pass off as quality music from local artists you would know why.
It is a music desert
