Maybe, but I still have to have it in a tasse. And there is something I like about the ambiance in a café or salon de thè. Well, to each their own.

Oh yeah, one other survivor from the US... Domino's Pizza
Yea' it's weird - they all close here like you suggested...but still Swiss people, they aren't exactly the most healthiest - all these farmer type of people eating rosti's etc etc

KFC closed some 10 years ago

it was a very little shop, inside the shopping center under the Kieser Training gym by the rue de Pont d'Arve in Plainpalais. It was replaced by a no name fried chicked, and then just closed

Wendy's was close to the rue de mont blanc, don't remember the name of the road though, it was also small. they closed some 12 years ago

Pizza hut was at the rond point de plainpalais where all the trams turn to go to the rue de carouge. it was replaced by a régie IIRC maybe closed for 6 years now

there were two Subways, one at the gare routière, and another at the corner of the plaine de plainpalais in front of the church ( pont d'arve ) they lasted until 2006 IIRC

I'm glad all of them are now closed

the worst of them all, MacDonalds, is still open though
I remembered KFC, Subway, Pizza-Hut, Wendys and FRIDAYS!!! during those days...

For Suisse Romande, the nearest KFC is in Chambery, Chick-Chicken tried (and still trying) to taste like KFC.

Have you considered that they didn't close because people thought the food was unhealthy but more because people didn't like the taste or that particular concept of fast food?

KFC in Chambery is not good at all. Nothing compared to the UKs KFC. Chick-chicken is marginally better though (my opinion, dont shoot!)

To put it short, people liked the taste. But the two franchisee-companies did not like decent accounting. The two places in Zurich were full.

neither of them. And the financial scandals they left behind (I mean the Swiss franchisees) has been in a way anybody interested shrinking back

I am not really sure, but I think that Pizza Hut at Bahnhofplatz Zürich took over premises from KFC (corner Bahnhofplatz/Bahnhofquai) and so possibly have the same chaotic people ! But nice gastronomes they WERE .....
