Doubtful. Until I get some evidence I'd say you got pranked. Or are trying to prank us.

Yep, that's the old one but it's been gone for probably 10 years! There was a Pizza Hut near the airport as well; it's now an Iranian restaurant.

Re: How long has KFC been open in Geneva?

I think it has been open a few years, as I used to eat there, when I was visiting the flea market, when I was younger.

But I really don't remember how long.

Re: How long has KFC been open in Geneva?

KFC closed some 10 years ago

it was a very little shop, inside the shopping center under the Kieser Training gym by the rue de Pont d'Arve in Plainpalais. It was replaced by a no name fried chicked, and then just closed

Wendy's was close to the rue de mont blanc, don't remember the name of the road though, it was also small. they closed some 12 years ago

Pizza hut was at the rond point de plainpalais where all the trams turn to go to the rue de carouge. it was replaced by a régie IIRC maybe closed for 6 years now

there were two Subways, one at the gare routière, and another at the corner of the plaine de plainpalais in front of the church ( pont d'arve ) they lasted until 2006 IIRC

I'm glad all of them are now closed

the worst of them all, MacDonalds, is still open though

I remember one there about 20 years ago, near the Plainpalais, but maybe that is the one now closed.

KFC closed some 10 years ago...

Wendy's ... they closed some 12 years ago

Pizza hut ... maybe closed for 6 years now

there were two Subways, ... they lasted until 2006 IIRC
Also one can add:
Burger King, one on rue du Mont Blanc and one at Rond-Point-de-Rive ... closed after two or three years

Häagen Dazs, on rue du Mont Blanc ... lasted less than a year, I believe

I wonder if this means something?

It looks like Starbucks will not go away. Their coffee is not that good
and expensive.

I understand the allure of McDonald's though. You get great fries with a crappy burger. It is the same crappy burger that you get everywhere
in the world.

Re: How long has KFC been open in Geneva?

Mc Do trains young kids to eat there, and when I was young, Mc Do was "the US stuff where it's cool to eat". Imagine you could eat there what people ate in the states...

Yep, at that time, the American way of life was still something cool

Coffee is subject to personal taste(s). I find the Starbucks coffee (I mean the one you buy to make the coffee yourself at home) really good, and the one they serve café-wise quite good. I however remember that the coffee I got at Starbucks Beirut-Hamra some years ago to have been clearly better than what they serve in Zurich

Maybe, but I still have to have it in a tasse. And there is something I like about the ambiance in a café or salon de thè. Well, to each their own.

Oh yeah, one other survivor from the US... Domino's Pizza

When I go to Starbucks to get a coffee, it ALWAYS is in a "TASSE", and in the Starbucks, there even is a lot of ambiance of a Café or Salon-de Thé, even including very comfortable upholstered easychairs. I would never opt for those cardboard-cups for the smokers outside on the pavement
