Turkish expats in Basel

I just moved to Basel from the US and looking to meet Turkish expats in Basel, from Turkey or abroad. Anybody out there?

I am astonished about your question. Go to Klein-Basel, the Basel part on the Eastern side of the Rhein, which is "fest in türkischer Hand" ! full with Turkish cafés and restaurants (here I carelessly include the Turkish Kurds, I admit) . Go to locations like the Claraplatz and the Wettsteinplatz and start to explore the area out from there You might join forces there to secede from the Union and establish the "Türkische Republik Klein-Basel = TRKB "

Do you only want to hang out with other Turkish ones? There are plenty of things to do in Basel among the expats. Very mixed group form all over the world, but overly friendly and ever so cheerful.
You are more than welcome to join us. Keep your eyes on the social calender.

I have met a few Turkish folks in my travels within Basel, alas, they are not EF users to my knowledge though, many of the ones I've met do not speak (much, if any) English (including two of hubby's coworkers and the first-floor resident of our building).

Drop by at Narli Market ( Turkish butchery ) - the people are pleasant and might lead you to meeting up with your countrymen.

Re: Turkish expats in Basel

Sorry to revive this old thread, but are still any Turkish EFers in/around Zurich? I'll be visiting for a week in a month or so, and will permanently move there end of December. Would love to make some new (Turkish) friends!
