looking for a church to join in AG

Gute morge everyone...im a protestant/bible believer and would just like to ask about churches near our place (untersiggenthal to be specific). Ive been here since February and never gone to church but would love to go either saturday or sunday but saturday better coz i believe in keeping the Sabbath. I know i could just google this but personal testimonies would be much better.
Vielen Dank and enjoy ur day

Re: looking for a church to join in AG

Are you looking for a normal protestant community, or for one of the more sect-like groups?

Re: looking for a church to join in AG

But Saturday sabbath is not part of the majority Christian experience. In fact, I know only of Seventh Day Advenists who promote that. So outside of them, it might be tricky.

This church in Baselland does 4 Saturday evening services a year. What's your mobility, and are you looking for German or English speaking churches?

I'm not sure what to make of the following story on the BBC website:

"Scientists use maths to predict 'the end of religion' "

Re: looking for a church to join in AG

In Nussbaumen there is a church here, which is pretty funky. It also has a relatively high English speaking community. Give it a go.

I have personally been to this church a few times.

But normally hang out at our local catholic house... (which isnt what you asked about)

Its not so tricky about Sabbath. Im aware thats its not the practice of other protestants except SDA but bible study on a saturday to me would count as "keeping the Sabbath". Im originally from evangelistic domination.

Thanks for the link. Firstly, it should be english-speaking. Im still learning deutsch but my husband tells me that in his experience (he is agnostic), when he went to a church, he himself can barely understand the german that they use.

The church I linked to has simultaneous translation into Spanish and French. The pastor preaches in English, and his wife translates into German. When he's not there, they do provide translators for anyone English speakers who need it.

The other English speaking churches which I'm aware of in/near Basel are Basel Christian Fellowship and Crossroads International.

BCF is the most evangelical traditional, Crossroads is more modern, Oikos is charismatic.

Just a small point for future reference: many of our members live in the French and Italian speaking parts of Switzerland, and might find all these random snippets of German incomprehensible/a bit irritating. It's easy to forget about them, living in the wrong bits of Switzerland as they do, but we have to be accommodating, eh?

Good luck in your search for a church!

In Protestant churches here you have Gottesdienst on Sunday at either 9am or 10am, but NOT on Saturday, and no "bible study groups"

that depends. I think churches like the ICF do do such things.

What's a Hauskreis (house circle), then?

Are they protestant? I always thought they carve out their own niche...

Sure, but I referred to normal protestant churches as you can find them all around, and which represent the majority of people.

This here

shows the schedule of the Protestant church in the Baden-Siggenthal area
