Lost and found: yay for living here!

I just got a call on my home phone from a nice lady who found my husband's cell phone - before he even noticed he'd lost it! At first I thought it was a telemarketer, so few Swiss people call me... She found it and called the "Home" number.
Oh, and I live in "crime-ridden" Kleinbasel.

I started by losing my inhibitions. Unfortunately for everyone, no one has bothered returning them.

Please don't forget to offer a reward of 10% the current value.

This will probably be declined, so stage 2 is to offer some hand made chocolates, nicely wrapped, from the Conditorei.

Nice! I'll bet there are quite a few lost & found stories. My nephew lost his electronic ski lift card on his first day of skiing. Thought for sure someone would have taken it for their own use (or sold it). No, someone turned it in to the counter for the lift tickets!

Just after I got here I lost my EPFL camipro card on the bus. Someone called EPFL and made a special journey there to return it. I was astonished!

Re: Lost and found: yay for living here!

Once I lost my mobile in Crozet at a ski sloop. They also called the home number and I get it back.
I was so happy - great experience. Once I found a mobile phone - I did the same.

Re: Lost and found: yay for living here!

I once got a letter from the Swiss embassy in Copenhagen which included my driving licence and I hadn't even reported lost yet, nor have I ever been in Denmark.

but then something I lost on the train and really wanted back never got returned, a backpack of smelly running gear including almost new shoes and a set of specially-made orthopedic insoles.
