But the view is too nice to let the curtains hang on our living room. Especially as the days get longer. Soon we´ll be having breakfasts and dinners at the balcony and im betting, the same shower show. Hmmm might as well enjoy it. Im just thankful i dont have a son (yet). Double awkward. In the USA you definitely could sue, and usually you wouldn't even have to win. Years ago there was that case of a burglar who broke into a house through a skylight on the living room ceiling. He fell, broke both legs and, of course, got caught. Ok, he got jailed, but once he's out of jail he'll be a rich man. He sued the owner of the house because there were no stickers on the skylight warning against the risk of falling.

As usual in the USA, he claimed one or two dozen million dollars or so, and, as usual, there eventually was an out-of-court settlement over half a million or thereabouts. Ok, again as usual, his lawyer pocketed at least 35%, but there are lots of people who'd gladly have their legs broken for the rest.
