My first experience with one of those ladies no-price menus:

My then boyfriend took me for a slap up meal to celebrate my 18th. I took one look at the menu and called for the waiter to tell him that there was a printing error because it didnt include prices, and to get me a new one.

/facepalm

till today, I feel incredibly nervous when I get one of those and get extra stressed even though I know my other half is paying. I am such a curious cat and hate the idea of not knowing!
I never got one of these. Damn i have to look at my boyfriend's menus now

Re: Dining faux pas

I remember taking a girlfriend out to dinner once, early on in the relationship.

At the end of the main course, she sat her knife and fork down on the plate.

Crossed.

Yes, you read correctly - crossed!

I knew at the point that the relationship was doomed, and I ended it later that night. Well, later the next morning, to be precise - I had just bought her dinner, after all!

She will doubtless have lived out the rest of her life - such as it was - as a lonely, childless spinster firmly parked on the shelf, befitting such behaviour.

The first time I took Mrs G out for dinner, she got really cross when i used my knife to dislodge a bit of meat stuck in my back molar. To this day I cannot understand why?

Big teeth? I mean, usually a toothpick should suffice.
