| | Re: American needs help from someone in Zurich or Hergiswil | Quote: | | | | | Wow, you guys are great. Thanks for all of the help.
The company I was looking for was Sigalus AG in Zurich. Short of someone actually going to that address and verifying that it's legitimate, I think there is enough info to confirm it's actually there. I just hope it's an office and not a PO Box.
I'm definitely not going to be an au pair, Mary Poppins I am not. But thanks for the warning.
I think the Hergiswil number will be tougher to find. I was looking for a reverse number lookup directory in Switzerland, but couldn't find one. The number down there is 41 41 632 4265. | | | | | http://sigalusgroup-ag.com/ is the WEBsite

| | Re: American needs help from someone in Zurich or Hergiswil | Quote: | | | | | Re Zürich city and Zürich Canton. The Cantons are, I suppose the equivalent of States in the US. Zürich is the 'capital' of the canton of the same name. A bit like the USA but it's all much, much smaller! We even have half-cantons! | | | | | I forgot to ask: what is a half-canton?
And why did you pick Marcie instead of Peppermint Patty?

Do the majority of Swiss people speak 4 languages, or are some languages dominant in certain areas?

I don't know what that is in your avatar, but it's pretty funny looking.

Just because I'm curious. What do you want from Sigalus? The website looks pretty obscure. In addition it's quite unusual for a reputable company to have a mobile number only.
BTW Wikipedia is fine for general information - it's also user generated as is this forum - the controversy is around something completely else.

Right, but the number given A) leads automatically to the hotel and B) obviously is one of the internal numbers of the hotel which therefore is not listed

Very correct and strict in dealings with the members, who don't always toe the line. Mind you, EFers often come up trumps when someone looks like needing help - especially if the recipient shows a bit of gratitude while members are burning the midnight oil looking things up.

As I was reading this thread I couldn't help but wonder 'How many of you are helping someone find someone who doesn't want to be found, maybe for good reasons?'

Which is why questionable Threads sometimes get deleted by worried Mods. The stuff this guy was asking he could have found for himself had he known where to look. We just acted as signposts.

What, specifically, do you want to know about Hotel Brunig? I can confirm that it definitely exists - not just in photos I mean - and if you need knowledge you can't find on the net I can ask around or even go there (we're in the area).
Hergiswil is a very pleasant place to stay if you're coming here on business. Mountains, lake, ... so like many other parts of Switzerland. Our local large employer often suggests guests from the States stay there. It's not anywhere near Zurich though (at least not by Swiss standards of near!)

With the way the banking rules are set up in your country, the secrecy makes it a very attractive place for bad people to go.
