It's like a date with a wonderful woman who left only the smell and billow of her perfume.
Wouldn't know about that......

Re: Rain storms!

I love the days when the sun shines through the clouds and the wind's blowing fresh air in your face. The views you get with the mountains in the back are awesome.

Don't like rain much though - went through years of biking to school/work in cold rain and walked around in soaked jeans for half a day... *shudders*

Missing here the stormy windy days I got on the northern coasts when I would take my kite out and let it fly.

Re: Rain storms!

I love big electrical storms in the evening - turn out all the lights and just watch the show. You know the big storms that make the animals run for cover and frightens the little-un's... but I tell my kids that the lightning is God's fireworks and the thunder is the clouds clapping and they are OK...

Re: Rain storms!

yeah, i love rain! and all the nice things you all mentioned about rainy weather. i remember when i was a kid as we got home from bathing in the lake it started raining. a warm summer rain, splashy etc. and we were still in our swimming trunks. so us kids decided to go outside, to run around through the rain...barefeet...lovely! a couple of blocks later we found some of our neighbours doing the same...with some beer in their hands...

Re: Rain storms!

I like days that start like today, where I wake up to the gentle sound of rain drops just over my head, with the sun peeking out for a little while after a good hard soak.

I'm less keen on the sticky heat that we've got now as the sidewalks dry up but as I'm sure that we're not going to get truly hot for another month (ish), I'll deal with it for now.

Re: Rain storms!

I love taking long walks barefoot in the summer rain.
Get absolutely soaking wet and make big splashes in the puddles.
Have no idea why we have to grow up

Re: Rain storms!

Must say the countryside, wildlife, farmers and my garden really needed that rain- so even I welcomed it. Went to buy a water pump from 'M Bricolage' to move water from the waterbutt under the main downpipe to our new 1000litre one + all buckets and water containers filled - so yes, turn the b****y tap off now. Merci.

Re: Rain storms!

normally i love the humidity... growing up near the ocean and in a pretty humid place i just love the way it feels. strangely, i especially love it in really really hot weather- my favorite.

i really love the thunder and lightening storms like we've had today- there is nothing like a down pour of rain when it is still quite warm to make you feel like a kid again- and i miss those kind of storms, they are pretty few and far between here- but they are great especially for sleeping

Re: Rain storms!

I love storms and rain.... except when we happen to plan our son's birthday for this saturday . We'll need to get quite creative as we are having 15 5-year-older's that can't go out to the garden . And will also need to figure out where are we going to hang the Pinata we ordered for him .

Other than that, my favorite weather tends to be the beginning of the rainy season in the tropical countries where I have been. Amazing how everything comes back to life, kind of the change from winter to spring but more dramatic.

Re: Rain storms!

ug. been there with the pinata issue being that my son's bday is in august which was hurricane season in ny- on year we cleared out the living room and weakened the pinata by tearing it a bit (they didnt know- 4 years old) and used tennis rackets- worked pretty good.

then again at 5 you can have it in the rain and they'd love it anyway- probably remember as a great day even more, getting wet and candy raining down on them? how can you beat that?!
