Unfortunately, no, I can't find the article that he wrote -- only mentions of it. (I tried to find it when I was leaving the other post). I did a Google search for "doctor nose picking healthy" just to find his name because I couldn't remember it.
But if you Google his name, maybe you'd have more luck and be able to find it. |

What gets me is the amount of men, (and I have never seen a woman do it), who I see in my rear view mirror picking their noses and eating it whilst sitting in traffic!!!

I have also noticed this a lot when on trains, I think people think they can't be seen, especially if they turn slightly towards the window....even though most of the time you can still see their reflection.!!!! I did find this though.... http://www.damninteresting.com/you-c...pick-your-nose urgh!

Not trying to condone it but the act obviously makes a lesser contribution to spreading germs in the environment v/s through discarded tissues filled with the stuff ? | | | | | Your nose acts as a filter and the boogers are not meant for ingestion.

So, I assume that most people find eating snot to be disgusting, but what I want to know is (from a Swiss), is this behavior "penalized" or "passively-encouraged"? |

Has anyone ever been to a public library or even a restaurant and run their fingers underneath the table - to find dried up boogers? Along with the bubble gum?
Yuck.

1. I try to be discrete about it...
2. I would never ever eat the snot...and definitely NOT in public

I'd rather people eat it than flick it around or wipe it under the seat/table etc. Not that it's pleasant to watch, but hey. Life goes on. http://www.studiohousepro.co.uk/fugi..._eating_i.html
(Someone mentioned this, or a similar article, earlier.)
Even Wiki has an article on the subject. They have everything. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eating_mucus |

I hope that the school has not adopted the bizarre findings from the Austrian doctor (article above)...

I think all kids stick their fingers in their mouths after a rummage up the nose; I don't think it's confined to the Swiss. i would be more concerned with them teaching their kids not to push and shove or to watch what they're doing with their sodding square rucksacks on a packed tram. If they want to eat snot, that doesn't bother me one bit - unless they offer me a taste... |

and no, there is no health benefits of eating your own snot, would you drink your own urine if it was good for you? | | | | | There are health benefits, the claims and the science are quite sound.
If urine was healthy, of course I would be drinking it. Sure beats some of the Swiss beer.
Just to recap , you would let your own personal disgust get in the way of health benefits to your son ?
