| | Bad manners .....
What is it about the Swiss that they insist on talking with a mouthful of food? I find it unbelievable when people have a converstaion with eachother on a train whilst ramming as much of a sandwich in their mouth as they possibly can. I get the impression they're not taught these basic manners as children and therefore grow up with the bad manners and then pass them onto their own children ..... and on it goes.

Oops, sorry. That'll be me then. Skipped breakfast and that sandwich didn't touch the sides. Yum!

Did you ask if they were Swiss? Do ONLY Swiss people do this in your opinion?

Don't eat while talking ! "" is the old command here, and is basic manners taught everywhere in this country. THIS of course cannot mean that there are not heaps of people who passed parental education in the express-train and forget all manners at times (or always).
However, to say that "THE Swiss insist on talking with a mouthful of food" is definitely nonsense

Nothing typical swiss about this, I saw that from everywhere!
Bad manners don't have a citizenship, it is International, genderless and have no age.

In fact heard this advice given by parents to children also in Britain, France, Belgium, Germany, Italy, North Africa, Middle East and Turkey. So that most parents in the world are quite united in this. And in fact, a clear majority of people respect this rule. The unruly minority of course is irritating everywhere.

Chances are they were Swiss | | | | | I've gotten in trouble (not directly mind you, just through peurile comments that filter back to me, some through my boss) with our waspish Swiss HR drone for starting my lunch at....11:48....two minutes before the 'allowed' time. It was a far more relaxed place to work before she showed up and just as highly productive.

To me, lunchtime is between 12.25 and 14.00 .

My mum is very definitely not Swiss by upbringing and she talks with her mouth full too, drives me nuts. Hey, maybe it's not a nationality thing? *shocker*
