Welcome to the Forum.
If you open the Daily Life section of the forum (where you posted this), there is a Sticky at the top, with loads of information about this sort of thing.
Good luck in your hunt.

The main thing to watch for is the Klugsteuer, or intelligence charge. You will have your IQ tested within 14 days of arrival, and you will be charged a percentage of your monthly income equal to a quarter of your assessed IQ.
No need to worry, though. I don't think you'll find it a heavy burden. | The following 3 users would like to thank for this useful post: | |

memsav: Don't believe a word this guy says. He's got a brilliant sense of humour and knows an awful lot, but he does love to lead us astray .up the garden path when he has nothing better to do.
DOUGAL: I know it's your lunch break, but couldn't you go out and do some shopping or something? Later edited by moderator utilising a more appropriate idiom.

I suggest you read up on Permits/Visas, and accomodation etc.
The salary you mention may cover accomodation and food, but that will be about it. Significant costs to consider would be health insurance, transportation costs , utility bills, i.e. the same liabilities you would have in the UK (Medical Insurance exlcuded).

Are you of EU citizenship and will you be offered an employment contract? Or were you thinking of coming on a travel / working permit?... not that I know much about those in CH..

As a Brit you will get taxed at source, just like at home.
Outgoings as normal; rent, food, transport.
The only thing that is a bit different is that you need to pay your own health insurance. Look at comparis.ch, as a young male probably 250-300chf a month.

The authorities actually consult DB on intelligence quota for non-EU but as a Brit you will just have to answer this simple question:
How many times does your age go into DB's age. To make it easier we have multiple choice:
a) 1
b) 3
c) 17

OP at your age don't even worry about it. Be happy you're with your GF and be happy you're leaving UK!
