The lack of humour in taxing other people as humourless is showing that tax advisors in general don't really know anything about humour at all.

Your comment about "women who can open them up to a different side to life and are a lot less up themselves" is just great as there are many of these women on the forum either engaged or married to swiss men who maybe are not "d'accord" with you.

Thinking before posting seems to be a lottery for some posters on here.
Your comment makes no sense for a start....
Just reciting the experience of friends and feedback from Swiss women I've dated, sorry I hit a nerve Mr Bore, I'm sure you make up for it in other ways

Re: Swiss men

I have read through some of the posts on this thread with great interest. I can feel for some of you lovely ladies out there, I really can.

With that in mind, and with me being the selfless, giving type of guy that I am, I will happily offer myself up as a solution to your man problems.

I am rich in looks (think uncle Bulgaria), personality and am blessed wonderful sense of fun (You should see what I can do with a ball of wool, tweed and a decent pattern).

Drop me a line and let me complete you.

The love professor.

No, you may refer to me as Booby, Mr Anorak or the Professor.

I really am not an imposter, just brilliant.

Dude, no offence, but regarding the Prof., you have no idea what you're talking about!!!

Regarding Swiss women, well, I've never dated any, nor Swiss men for that matter, so I really cannot comment. Still, I don't like your generalization and drawing a conclusion on the whole population based upon a couple of examples. I recognize it's easy to fall into that trap though, of which I am a victim myself - dating a couple of Germans led me to believe that all men from there are wunderbar (wonderful), hehehe...*

On the other hand, I've met great Swiss women and men to whom I have become really close and who could easily turn into lifelong friendships, whether I stay in the country or not.

*Not been proven wrong yet

People fall into the trap of assuming one says ALL when they do not. I am sure all are not like that, of course they’re not.

But, if my circle of female friends in SZ, not huge but more than 10 put it that way, have ALL said the same thing, and have all dated an average of 4 Swiss guys, some more, some less, and then of the 5 Swiss girls I have dated in my year and 4 months here, and have ALL said the same thing, and they have lived here their lives and thus dated more than 1 guy one assumes, then one starts to draw a conclusion it is rather common, no???? Add to that there is many a discussion and stereotype on the very subject.

So, in conclusion, apologies people have assumed I said ALL when I haven’t, but I am merely pointing out that is rather common perception.

Re: Swiss men

I guess what you think of as boring plays a part too. Me, I like a guy who has a fairly regular lifestyle and looks after himself, someone who is past getting drunk until four am and then falls asleep in the hallway to be covered in marker pen by his mates. Someone who actually reads the books he owns and doesn't think he is above any task, household or other. This guy would probably rank as "boring nerd" among many women but that's their loss...

You could have also asked your friends whether their ex-boyfriends were good lovers, conversationalists, exciting, funny and so on and come to the same conclusion... or, if you don't get it, most people blame everything that was bad in a relationship on their ex-partners, and your friends seem no exception. But as an independant observer I have to wonder how long it takes for some people to figure out that someone is boring...

"Oh, I just left him after four months... he was soooo boring".

Whenever someone complains about their previous partners I mentally translate that to poor judgment and selective perception, and or lack of objective judgement and stay clear of said person.

I think the general consensus was none of the above, stiff, not in a good way, dry conversationally, exciting if your a librarian perhaps, funny, haha hardly.

I got the image of the terminator, good body, but otherwise a robot

Well perhaps they didn't want to tar all with the same brush after one ecounter, but perhaps had a run of bad luck with them all being largely similar.
