It was my exotic accent that pulled my Swiss hubby, not to mention that I pulled a mean pint of Guinness.

According to a former member of the SVP, many Swiss women are not only politically incorrect (i.e. left wing) but they also look like scarecrows and have no idea what the purpose of makeup is. http://www.kuhn-rene.ch/
It is surprising how many SVP sympathisers are married to foreign women and yet their main policy is targeting foreigners.

When we first met, my (German) husband said that he wanted me to help him improve his English.
So I taught him the phrase 'You are gorgeous; will you marry me?'

Actually this is something of a globalized thing, this happens all over the world. In my case I married a Dutch guy, his brother married a Canadian girl and two of his cousins are also married to foreigners, and they come from a small village. On my side, my sister has a Cuban boyfriend...globalization I guess | The following 8 users would like to thank for this useful post:

The first German phrase I taught my NZ husband-to-be was "Mit meinem Neuseeländischen Akzent, fange ich die Frauen.." | The following 4 users would like to thank Rangatiranui for this useful post:

| | Re: Swiss men | Quote: | | | | | Well, my husband is a gamer and more than a little bit of a homebody so if he were likely to meet a woman, it would have been one who games OR one at work. So, indeed, we did meet playing an online game in which we were in the same guild... now if those cute young hussies at work** will leave him alone, everything would be peaceful! **Really, I've met the cute young females at work, they're alright. | | | | |
it wouldn't be WoW by any chance, would it?

Every foreign bloke I know is married to a Swiss woman. What I have noticed though is nearly every Swiss woman between the ages 25-35 are sticks. I was just wondering if the Swiss actually like curvy women, it would be hard to find one.

Maybe if your circle of friends was primarily Swiss the numbers of foreign partnerships might shift..? | Quote: | | | | | That would probably happen if they all stopped smoking. | | | | | Err... how come as soon as someone makes a comment about overweight people on this forum, the sh*t hits the fan with a force that can be measured on the Beaufort scale.

Geek Love! | | | | | I'm Swiss and male, and I met my OH across the Atlantic while chatting about trad sailing. The amazing lot of shared interests immediately hit us like an earthquake. That was twelve years ago. Meanwhile we are intercontinental commuters because both of us still have commitments on their native continents (and meanwhile also mutually on the other continent). A bit complicated, but it works. Organization is everything.

| | Re: Swiss men | Quote: | | | | | it wouldn't be WoW by any chance, would it? | | | | | No, we met playing an older game, 10yrs'ish ago but we did switch to WoW a few months after it came out and spent time "together" through there when we couldn't be together face-to-face. Now his short attention span comes out though, I still play WoW and natter about in new games he tries sometimes while he's always hopping from one game to the next.
This is much better I think than guys I'd known in previous relationships who revealed short attention span by hopping from one gal to the next. (I'm sure some guys go through that with short-attention-span gals too)

While it is somewhat easy stereotype, "slender" is more how I'd describe them, particularly as it seems a "natural" thinness as opposed to one forced by eating disorder. (A lot fewer backbones, ribs and hips completely sticking out, unlike some American and British models show.) Meanwhile, I've seen and met a few curvy Swiss women... it is true there are not nearly as many who are fat as I and my American friends are though.
My (Swiss) hubby does indeed appreciate my "zaftig" figure, as have some other foreign (non-American) men I met either out and about or through work in my younger years.
