I love jaywalking in Zürich

the stare that I got today was utterly priceless

If I can avoid paying health insurance too then I guess that'll pass for total anarchy here

Have you considered putting your garbage out on the wrong day if you really want to live dangerously?

Don't worry, I don't think it'll exclude you from the "wouldn't take this one home to meet your mother" category of bad boy.

Your idea of anarchy is a bit umm... tame, isn't it?

Re: I love jaywalking in Zürich

Pah! A feeble effort at best.
To really cause offence, try not getting off your bicycle and riding over a pedestrian crossing on it.

Alternatives include:

1) Not parking evenly between the white car park space markings

2) Not keeping grasss closely cropped to the regulation 17mm length

3) Putting coloured glass into the clear glass bottle bank

4) using a bottle bank on a Sunday!

Re: I love jaywalking in Zürich

Dude, I'm with you. While some insurance is useful (or required by law), the chokehold that insurance companies seem to get in Switzerland is impressive.

Isn't it funny that you can live happily in the rest of the world without 25 insurance policies but the fearmongering drives you to protect yourself against any risk.

Anyway, buying insurance is like gambling in Las Vegas....odds are always in the favor of the house (that's how they stay in business!).

Re: I love jaywalking in Zürich

I have not stopped jaywalking since that happy day when some old guy shouted out after me, "no crossing the street on red, young lady!!" Needless to say, I went forth with a spring in my step after that.
