I liked this in the beginning but the franc has become worrying strong. When I arrived in Switzerland 1 CHF was ~0.64 Euro now it's ~0.86 Euro. 20 cent in just 1.5 years!

I pity those companies whose clients pay in USD or EUR. They must be really getting a shafting

TANGENT
You're an easy target because I know your business - and more importantly the currency in which your sales are made. The old currency rollercoaster is no more. The days of knowing that one year you could make good money on the FX and the next you wouldn't are long gone. The current situation is believed to be a global revaluation

Generally the Swiss do realise how lucky they are - in particular how easily they have skated through the global financial turmoil of the last few years.

I think the title translates to "The Great Flood", if I recall correctly. My little girl had a bit of trouble sleeping for about a week after my husband read it to her. He was tempted to show her all the original YLE versions of the muumi shows on DVD but I asked him to wait a year or three since they're so intense for one so young. I wonder if it's scarier to see a movie or to hear it read leaving you at the mercy of your imagination.

The movie is really harsh. We watched a bit but my girl glued to me...spooky. But then we got bunch of hair clips and toys with Moomins from Finland, that made it a bit more digestible . Still, I think at 7 it will be ok.

I don't have an "American dream" and I don't want to be rich, I just like the place a lot (Nevada), that's all :-) There are unfortunately no visa for working class people like me. I would have to be a doctor or a lawyer to get a permit ...
I'm sure you've been diligently applying to the greencard lottery since you discovered your very strange love for america?

I'm paid in francs and it's great for the moment to be able to shop cheaply abroad. But if the strong currency affects the economy badly they can't pay the people anymore and there'll be less jobs around. Which isn't good for the residents in CH.

My (admittedly naive) view on economy.

This should be an incentive to save as much as possible while the jobs are there to find. Then, after one loses one's job, one can just take one's CHF abroad and chill

No, after one loses one's job, one can just go to the RAV and chill.

You clearly have no clue about life here....

If the economy is hit badly the CHF won't be as strong which will allow the exporting sector to recover which will make the CHF rise in value and then the economy is hit badly the CHF won't be as strong which will allow the exporting sector to recover which will make the CHF rise in value and then the economy is hit badly the CHF won't be as strong which will allow the exporting sector to recover which will make the CHF rise in value and then.. you get the point.
