- Spells "Kronor" incorrectly;
- Keeps comparing Switzerland with the United States, not Sweden;
- Always posts during American working hours (east coast)?
Anyone would think he was yet another of our tiresome libertarian visitors, trying to pull the wool over our eyes... | | | | | Plus: I have worked for years with Swedes in a Swedish company. I have never met one who would even think about hoarding wheat - they'd distill it.

you know, it seems as if he

if that's what he wants to do, I think we should make it
clear to him that he can. |

Whether living in Switzerland would suit many libertarians is questionable, but the fact that political reality is much closer to their ideal here than over the big pond however seems pretty much a given to me.
We do have low taxes, salaries are high, it is a decentralised, federal system, politics are mostly reasonable, solution-driven, individual liberties (given by law, not neighbours) are higher here, competition between cantons is a driver for improved efficiency and Switzerland does not generally interfere in other countries' affairs.
Therefore from a political, administrative and economic perspective Switzerland is somewhat closer to (some) libertarian values than other countries. Many of Ron Paul's key points (the libertarian movement is quite heterogenous as well afaik) are already in some form implemented in Switzerland. example: RP: drug use should be decriminalised but the public is not responsible for you
CH: drug use is mostly decriminalised but the public does pay for you But, as a country with a high population density and a somewhat conservative and orderly population you are still subjected to ex- and implicit rules and laws that someone with the attitude of "I can do whatever the f**k I like as long as it's not illegal" might find objectionable.

Like taking green issues seriously, the social welfare system, public transport, union power and workers rights. They also seem to think everyone walks around with a loaded gun and it's fully legal to shoot anyone who breaks into your home.
