How much do you pay for convenience at Co-op Pronto?

Last Sunday and Monday (1st of August) I did my shopping at the Bienne station, which has an Aperto plus two Co-op Prontos. A couple of things struck me about prices at the convenience Co-ops:
  • There was a very limited selection of Co-op brand charcuterie, almost all the products were advertised (hence more expensive) brands.
  • Feldschlösschen Original beer cost CHF 1.80 a can, vs CHF 1.50 at every "normal" Co-op (including those in Bienne when they opened).
Is this a general feature of the convenience versions of the Co-op?

Please note, I am NOT complaining, just curious about whether Co-op makes its customers pay for convenience.

Yes, it's not unusual for Co-op, Co-op Pronto and Co-op Tankstelle to have different prices for the same item in the same town. Pronto can be about 0.20 CHF more expensive per item.

Migrolino on the other hand "seems" to carry mostly the same products they sell in larger stores at the same price.

Obviously, you pay a little extra for the convenience. Those few minutes saved may well be worth it.

You may also save money buy just buying the essentials and not being tempted by 'impulse buys' in larger supermarkets.
