I love that fax machines are still all the rage here. If I send an order to a supplier over their site or by email I'll get delivery in maybe a week (sometimes only after a phone call to prod them ), by fax I have my stuff the next day.
I saw a fanny pack this morning. Couldn't tell if the fellow was Swiss or not. But those still exist in the U.S. so I can't really talk .
What do Brits call fanny packs?

AFAIK, unlike mobile SMS and emails, Swisscom basically gives you an SLA for the message-roundtrip-time etc. to your pager.
Reception is also supposed to be better.
People in the emergency-services still (have) use then.

I've found reception simply to be "different" than better. There are places where, when on call, a pager will get reception and a mobile phone will not, and vice versa.

For the record: I know a guy who is running around with a pager as well - he is a fire fighter and they all have one to carry around with them... the really stylish ones in plastic and "XL" with a lovely plastic clasp to fix it to your belt...
