Figure seems to be based on single income for 2 bedroom home - not clear if house or flat.

Repayments are usually not a lot (unless you signed up to a bad deal), since they can be done through the 3rd Pillar, so less than 6k a year per person.
We found London really expensive but moved from a tiny house in London to a huge flat here and paid 50% (but in the center of Zug not Zurich).
I would personally never pay 50% of my income in rent. We moved further out in London and found a less expensive place and saved the difference. Friends lived in a studio in Olympia when we rented a house in Wimbledon for a similar price.
