parking for Visitors

Hi everyone,

Just wondered if anyone can help...My parents are coming to visit on Friday and will stay until Monday morning. They will need to park their car. Does anyone know if it is possible to get a permit for such a short time and if so how much it costs? Otherwise are there any longterm carparks in Altstetten and what are the costs of these?

Thank you!

Lucy

Re: parking for Visitors

I may be a bit behind the times but last time I drove to Switzerland I picked up a blue parking disc at the local post office. (sorry if this is no longer the case, it was a couple of years ago).

If you drive from Farbhof dir Schlieren, turn right after the CoOp garage & right again in to Hermetschostr (spelling) there is free parking in White boxes, it's still 8048 !

Re: parking for Visitors

The Blue Disks only allow for a couple of hours but you can get day permits for visitors for 15 chfs a day, you can do this online and print at home, you specify the day and I think the car registration but I might be wrong on car reg bit.

Here is the link that explains it all in German, Italian, French and English - I think (but again not 100% sure) that the 15 chfs may allow for all Blue Zones perhaps someone else can verify this.

Hope your parents have a great visit.

Re: parking for Visitors

If your apartment has a private garage, ask your agency if you can rent a spot for a few days.

We always do this, they charge us 5 CHF/day for a secured, dry and cool parking space.

Re: parking for Visitors

From Friday, 18.30 till Monday, 8.30, you can park in the blue zone. No need to get a day permit.

Re: parking for Visitors

I thought it's from Saturday evening till Monday 8:00.. I had few tickets on Saturday with this blue parking disc, for parking for more than 2 hours, but it was in Geneva.
Is it from Friday evening in ZH?
