You really need to get a project takes less time and start small.

When I was young my neighbor taught me to cross stitch with yarn and jute type fabric. It was so fun so I ran out to the craft store and bought this crazy huge complicated cross stitch project. And found I hated it. It was just way too much. Eventually I got back to cross stitching a few projects, where I would just cross stitch a simple border on a pillow cases or scarves. I'm not a cross stitch diva. But I like it to embellish some simple fabrics and make them look so cute.

I know some people exchange unfinished projects (or UFOs). That might be fun, but I think we are all so far away from each other.
You are of course absolutely right, except, those easy or less time consuming projects, just don't appeal to me. If I'm going to attempt it, it ought to be worth the effort, as in, must be exceptionally wonderful ( should I ever finish it)

I have accepted that I am like this, and now at least don't waste my time and energy on even beginning unrealistic projects anymore.

Slightly wistful, as I maybe have some good ideas, but no execution skills. Still, I very much enjoy seeing other creatives, that actually do it, they earn my complete and utmost respect.

The other thing you could do is to keep the project around for when you have to go somewhere, a long plane, train ride, etc. I've done embroidery at the dr's office.

Of course that's assuming of course this is portable. Maybe your ideas are more ambitious than that, like building furniture or welding sculptures.

I am a multimedia designer. Professionally, I have worked as graphic/web designer and performer, but in daily life I do a little bit of other media.

I did a website for my works www.luanav.com

Re: What do you make? Show us your stuff...

I was really glad I brought knitting on my way to see folks, we traveled from 17deg to -2 and snow, so the hat and mittens I made on our way there were used immediately by my little monkey, and I thought they will lay in armoire till the next season..

It's a good yarn, new alpaca/silk/moher thicker Noro, awesome to work with..I mixed it with handspun local 100% wool, recycled.

Re: What do you make? Show us your stuff...

For the last few years I've been purely practical, building stuff for the farm and house, but recently I had to slow down a bit and decided to do some painting after a break of 20 odd years.

Here's my first attempt at being creative purely for pleasure.

1288 years. (and no, they are not wedges of cheese)

Re: What do you make? Show us your stuff...

Well this is my first post! I'll be moving to Switzerland to live with my husband in 2 weeks! I'd already planned to use all the creative skills at my disposal and see just how much I can make .

Anyway, web designer/graphic designer by trade and I do digital art as a hobby; here's some of my work:
