Thanks...darn search never works very well! And I hoped I was on to something here

Well here's something I've made: It's inspired by the scherenschnitte I've seen here in Switzerland...I call them silhouettes or papercuts. Lots of fun! I cut mine with a knife mostly, though sometimes I use tiny scissors.

I do pastel landscapes (or at least I used to, it's been a while since I finished one).
Amazing! Loved your work!

Re: What do you make? Show us your stuff...

I had this old kids desk chair and wanted to get rid of it.
Then, in cleaning out some linen, found a nice old thick sheet in good condition that doesn`t have a matching size mattress anymore - so made a loose cover for the chair - which now is my bedroom chair.

Feeling chuffed with myself - because the colour matches colours in the bedside rug too(not shown, sorry).

Re: What do you make? Show us your stuff...

Aside from the scherenscnitte, I also make ships in bottles...it's my little business, as I am the struggling artist type . This is my obsession right now and a lot of fun, being a pretty unique craft! It makes me practice lots of patience Over the last three years I've gotten pretty good, and it's a great craft that I can carry anywhere, living on a sailboat, in a camper, small studio....we're always on the move, and I can stuff it all in one box.

I used to make stained glass and mosaics, sadly I don't have the space here or the tools, but when I take my vacations in the US, I can't resist the urge to make another stained glass window. I also absolutely love working clay and I've dabbled in everything from jewelry making, welding sculptures, collage, painting, drawing...the list goes on.

And, yes I can cut a little squirrel, sorry I never answered...wasn't subscribed.

By the way this is absolutely a great thread and I love to see all the crafty people out there...it gives me lots of great inspiration, but I must also keep myself from getting too distracted and wanting to pick up something new or else my apartment would turn into one giant workshop...don't think my significant other would like that so much.

If you don't mind I write directly here the exact address as it's open to everyone.

So this in in a retirement home in Clarens, named Burier (Avenue des Bousquets-de-Julie 67). It' next to Montreaux. You will definitely find it by the GPS
It's open until the end of September.

Thank you for your interest
Anna

Your items are very interesting and beautiful...especially the colors you use. Is there an opening night or has that already occurred (or you didn't have one)? Just curious, personally I love meeting the artists as well

Re: What do you make? Show us your stuff...

A few of my stained glass and mosaic artwork. The frogs and view over the mountains are both the size of the upper section of a standard american window, and the mosaic tree is really large (something like 3 1/2 feet across). It makes me sad to look back on these, as I loved some much creating them and just don't have the space here in Switzerland. I also don't think the Swiss windows could handle stained glass, being hinged.

Here`s a small "hahaaaa" painting I did to use up some palette paint....

Titled "A blast from the past"

The point is: Do you recognise yourself amongst the characters?"

Todays offering ..... I always wanted to try painting a glass vase. Had no vase so used an empty Grappa bottle (no I did not drink the grappa!) ...... and a dried out lemon wasting away in the kitchen. The flowers are my fantasy.
What you think? (Actually it looks better in real life, than the photo - well that`s my excuse anyway)

And the others are my Stoney Faces "family"
Really nice. I like esp. the stone faces- they are full of characters!
