woow. that's really cool! I was also considering learning silversmith, but I didnt know where to go, and it's really expensive to learn, esp. in Switzerland...

Thank you. Those were done using the lost wax process. Really very fun. I love melting metal (and glass) with big torches and lots of fire!

I don't know any studios in Valais. What part are you in? I can ask around.

I would love to do silver work myself, except the landlord isn't wild about me melting metal and playing with torches and fire in my flat.

Isn't the lost wax process always used in massive production? My friend has a Jewelry factory for high-end Silver and Gold jewelries in HK. I regret so much I didn't learn from him when I was there...
Now I only do beading... it's also cool, but not so flexible, comparing with silversmith.

I know a few Studios in VS, but they are still expensive, even in VS... I'm at the German-speaking part. where is your Studio?

sure, that's the most frequent problem for silversmith lovers in a rented apartment

Of course, it can be and is for making gazillions of the same piece.

Though, not always. All my rings are one of a kind. I could have made a series of them. Actually I still could. I'd just need to make a mold of the rings. I could also send my wax pieces to a foundry to have them cast for me. Some of the best foundries are in Switzerland if you need very detailed and precise work. But it's much too fun not to do it myself. That and it's very expensive to send them out.

I don't have my own studio here. I'm still trying to make a studio in my garage. I need to have it all insulated. It gets cold in there. So I rent time in other people's studios.

But, yes, these are not inexpensive hobbies.

Don't know if I am allowed to intrude, but here goes...

I make crazy projects:

Paint:

Build stuff:

And make some cross stich, but I have no pictures of it...

I also love to bake pretty cakes, but they don't last enough to make pictures of them...

really cool idea! BTW, I live with a nerd.

I've been struggling for the last couple of years to keep my drawing/painting hobby going, it isn't really working any more though.
Anyway, here is a watercolour sketch done during a hike on the Bachtel in the Züri Oberland earlier this year.

Re: What do you make? Show us your stuff...

Hello today,

Does anybody know how and where to find art tenders in Switzerland or in Europe or anywhere?
I mean tenders that worth to try.
And/or do you know any art community near to Lausanne, Vevey, Chatel-St-Denis?
And/or any places/galleries to exhibit?

Thanks

Here are a bit more works of mine

I recently took up crocheting.

Do you do these in bigger sizes, that one looks a bit small?

These are all really nice. I'm curious if these are all hobbies or part of the poster's jobs.
