Thanks! I am starting to lack of furnitures to makeover.... Last week I did this wall table (picture) and today the chair.

I have an other piece I need to do a makeover but I am clueless to what to do with...

Here`s my newest recycled tin can creation - the lid I bent in half and hammered into a half-moon for some decoration.

In daylight, and the other with a tealight candle inside.

Have been making metallic wall frames. If people like it i might try selling them too but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be enough appreciation and market for handmade crafts and arts in this country

LOL, I have almost the same photo. Mine was shot on film though, one of the reasons I shoot film is I can't be bothered with the post-processing part.

I just found another version of it taken with my 60+ year old camera on a foggy day.

Since this is an older post can't put in the thanks but it is such a talented thing you have created.
the next time you make something like this please take photos stepwise...It is solo inspiring, but working with metal gives me too many cuts.

Impossible to take photos of step-by-step!

I have two half round logs of wood held together with box tape.
Put on table padded with thick magazines (to reduce the loud thumping banging of nail with hammer)
Hold can over end of logs.
Sit on other end of logs to hold them down.
Hammer designs in with long thick nail and hammer.
Regularly shake and suck fingers to relieve ache/switch position to relieve ache in bum and waist from twisted position.
Then using blunt pointed other end of hammer, begin hammering entire can causing metal to expand and wrinkle.
Hammer edges of bottom of can till they become rounded.
Hammer bigger holes where you want to attach chains of baubles.

Sort thru old jewellery to find matching pieces of chains/baubles.
Long nose pliars to prey open clasps.
Attach chains/baubles using very thin wire.

Secret is all in the amount of hammering over entire can,
it gives a sort of "Oriental Bazaar" look to the tin.
Other secret is LOTS of holes (preferably in a design, but not actually very important - just to let out candle light).

Those hanging outside have now rusted and look more "interesting" - like something bought in a wacky garden boutique
(I really would like to invest in a vice for holding those logs! as I`m getting too old for contortions!) .... (but then again, just how many tin cans do I intend to hammer? ... and what to do with them?)
