| | Places to cool off in Zurich
Hello everyone!
I've been trying hopelessly to find a place to cool off after work as the past few days have been ridiculously hot. The water temp in the river and lake is not refreshing any more and the crowds of people make a trip to the bad a lil to close for comfort and relaxation.
So if you've got any tips for places with cooler waters and more relaxed atmosphere please do share
Where are you going to cool off during this Zurich heat wave?
What are your favorite spots and tips?
Cheers! |

Moving water will feel cooler on your skin than still water.
Go to the "Ober Letten"
Follow the Limmat river back from the Lake, or take either the tram 4 or 13 to Limmat Platz and cross over to the Limmat from there.
Not only is there cool refreshing water........ but you can also DRINK BEER at one of the many surrounding outlets (or an alternative beverage of choice). This is my solid recommendation.
Following the Limmat down a little further, you will find the "Unter Letten".
It has a cool "GRILL" that sits in the water, and a spring board.
Dive off the spring board, float down and rest your feet up against the Grill and let the cool water wash past you.

Take a chair, a clipboard and a good book downstairs and sit in the laundry room. If anybody questions you, tell them it is your week to be lint trap monitor and brandish the clipboard in a meaningful, passive-aggressive way.

Mine is just across the road from my apartment - Lake Zurich. On Monday though, I resorted to going into the cellar pretending to potter around I like to because its so cool in there |

Spent the afternoon at Schlieren open air pool, not sure I like the new 'eco' pool, before the water was clean with chlorine, now it's just green & slimy.

Take a cold shower. Often in cellars of office buildings are the air raid shelters, and these have showers for decontamination.
Maybe you could take a discreet shower at lunchtime. If the door is locked you will have to ask the building janitor if you can use it, and he will say no!
