doesn't look like anyone knows what i'm talking about...
it's a music website (you could also have the app on your iphone) where you enter an artist/band/genre & the website "creates" a radio station for you with similar artists/bands/genres. it's awesome & i miss it. there must be something similar????

You can get Pandora here if you use a VPN. I just checked and when I use my US VPN I have no problems accessing Pandora, whereas with my UK VPN it says that due to licensing I can't access it. It did pretty well when I put in Vybz Kartel as an artist!

I only know about www.grooveshark.com

Unfortunately Spotify doesn't work here

I'm definitely interested. Couldn't get it in Canada either (unless I was employed at a US based company). Havn't found anything myself yet that compares.

You should be able to get a VPN for about $5-$10 per month. (search VPN on google)

I use a UK one to watch iPlayer.

Sadly Pandora is not available without a VPN or some sort of proxy server to hide your IP address.

The closest alternative is www.last.fm. I find it pales in comparison to Pandora, but it's better than everything else here.

You might want to check out Spotify and get a premium account for 10e per month. I've been really happy with it!

I was using a VPN service for about 6 months, the trustworthy ones start at about 10 USD per month, just recently i discovered www.unblock-us.com and they offer something similar for 4.99USD per month, or 49.99 per year. I actually have it set up through my router (very easy, instructions on the website. but you can also use it similar to a VPN) which is great because i can use it on multiple computers, my AppleTV, Xbox 360, Wii and our iPhones at home without having to configure each one individually. Rather than through a VPN which you can only sign in one computer or device at a time and you have to configure each system.

It works great and my speed was`nt effected at all, i use it for Netflix, Hulu, Pandora and just about everything else limited to the states as well, it also gives you routing through Europe, Australia, and some other regions too. There is a Free one week trial that i took advantage of before buying it. I would suggest to do the same, it just requires your e-mail address.

Spotify has just launched in the US, and I just happened to be there when it did and managed to sign up, it seems as long as you register as being in the US it works any where in the world or at least it does at the moment .... so far I've tried it in Luxembourg and Switzerland and it works.

I suspect that you need to be in the US to download it or have a VPN to the US to download it but after that I don't think you need the VPN.

I checked before I started typing this and no issues, just checked again to show the wife and it came up with a message saying I wasn't in the US and I needed to up grade to premium to carry on using, though it did still seem to work.

I use this company to unblock all my devices. I can watch Netflix, hulu and listen to pandora. I can also buy barnes and noble nook books. It's a simple change to you devices DNS address. Takes like a minute to change and anyone can do it. The site gives simple step by step directions. It 5 Canadian dollars a month, so like less than 4 francs.

Ah, Short-wave radio. It worked without VPN, IP numbers or roaming fees and you could listen to music from all over the world for free. Tell that to the kids and they don't believe you. C'est ca ca le progres?

Slacker works as a good Pandora alternative. Available for computer, all mobile devices etc. Like Pandora, it has a free and premium version.
