Lovely. I read this while looking out the window at a few of the Western Alps and this gorgeous valley with cow bells and church bells ringing. I feel so fortunate to be here - especially this past year. Different health circumstances, but very grateful indeed.

Thun is lovely... We're just a few km north along the Gürbetal.

Enjoy baby CC. Would that be CaviarChipielli?

All the best..

Congratulations for your son!! Lots of wishes his way for health, happiness and a bright future. And thank you for your wonderful post!! I haven't posted enough to have the "thank you" option, but I really appreciate! Such a nice, positive post!! And I totally agree...

It's not that my life is a walk in the park. But I prefer to see life as an adventure. Some issues may come up, I know, and we do what we can to handle them.

I've lived and worked in a few US and EU places. I feel like I've found my peace of mind in Switzerland and I'll be forever thankful for the experience. Don't know what the future holds for us... but right now we're enjoying the ride

I love it. Love an easy 20 minute bike ride with my partner along bicycle lanes between the main road and some farms, to the nearby 'Vitaparcour' (outdoor fitness circuit thing).

We don't have bike locks so the bikes sit alongside all the other unlocked ones (That would never fly in NZ).

After 40 mins in the peaceful forest circuit, we finish with some hazelnut picking for a biscotti recipe.

And switzerland has much more obviously to offer.

Unfortunately I have yet to find my feet here with job hunting not going well, so I have that sick feeling in my stomach occasionally, but Switzerland is a good place to be.

I've only just spotted this too - what a fab, uplifting post Caviar, and many, many congratulations to you and your wife on the birth of your son.

Reading this when you wrote it made me feel the same appreciation for where I am. But for some reason these last few weeks I seem to have lost that positively about CH.

How do I get it back.....?
