Re: Mosquito bites.......grrrrr

I agree with using heat on bites. I use hot water (as hot as you can bear) either on a flannel or just hold the bite under the tap for a couple of minutes. This also works on older bites, and it's free!

Re: Mosquito bites.......grrrrr

I use this stuff from the UK, I don't know if you can get a similar product over here but works a treat. I'm a mosquito magnet for some reason.

I hear tea tree oil is a good anti inflamatory too.

You'll put half of the pharmaceutical concerns in Basel out of business with useful, cheap advice. Careful you....!

Expert anti mozzie here. Aside from the reminder that Bushman is a very effective repellant as some smarter Effers can attest to, you can find a roll on stick which is called Parapic and if you use it on the bite it works very quickly, but as I said Bushman is your friend.
Since grumpygit brought Bushman into my life I am a new woman!
No more bites, no more problems

Actually wrong. Ecologically they're pretty useful as they clean up dirty water. They would be fine if it wasn't for the females need for blood before breeding.

Women, eh?
Woman need it after breeding as well as to mossies usefull? Surely the great mighty one could have come up with a better solution.

Not a poison, just an anti-coagulent they inject into you to stop the blood clotting. Unfortunately one that many people are allergic to.
just could not remember that word

Wow! Very tempted to get one of those if they really work! My mozzie bites are horrendous and think I'm starting to be immune to the antihistamine gel stuff as doesn't seem to work as well as it used to (is that possible?)

Don't want you to get a swollen head

Bushman works well and my OH thanks you immensely for that. Only problem was they transferred their attentions to other family members aqnd whilst I could use it to stop the critters my son was destined to use the child friendly alternatives which are no where near as effective and is now sporting a fair few bites (luckily he's not allergic). So it was a double edged sword for us unfortunately.

Having said this we will be getting some more as it's seriously effective and OH's serious mosquito bite allergy make using it worthwhile even if the little un wouldn't quite agree.
