When things just work

We moved apartments in April, with the new one featuring a nice large tiefgarage with plenty of spaces (11 for 7 flats).

I already rented 1 garage space - but took the chance to rent a second and keep the "daily" car under cover. The plan was then to cancel the first garage - and get a second one in the tiefgarage.

Well time got away from me, as it does when you lead a jetsetting lifestyle , and my semi-annual termination date slipped - the letter should have been sent by 30th June. So mid-July I called the agency, explained the situation, and would they let me off 2 weeks notice.

Being Swiss that wasn't possible, obviously, but instead they said "We'll advertise it - and as soon as we have a new renter you can move out".

This morning I got a call - "We have a new renter - can he take it over 1st October". A quick call to the new landlord to rent a second spot.

No problem with the new spot, rental from the 1st October - I can move the car immediately, and for the old garage I can just drop the keys in the mailbox of the Immobilien (3mins from the flat).

No fuss - no hassle - no stress.

Why can't everything in life be so simple?

Because most of the time the opposite gender is involved?

Simple would have been......"Two weeks late? No problem man, we'll find someone else soon. Here....take a toke of this while you're here".
