| | Where can I find REALLY wide shoes?
I wear US men's size 9.5 EEE (43 extra-wide), and have difficulty finding footwear, so I normally stock up on trips back to the US. Now I need another pair of shoes but don't have the time or the inclination to ship them across the Atlantic.
Anyone here know of specialty stores in the German part? How about across the border in Deutschland?

I would suggest getting tailor-made shoes at a real shoemaker.
I've been tempted myself as I have the contrary problem (slender feet) and I'm always losing my shoes !!

Vögele shoe shop will order extra sizes from their warehouse. You can then decide whether to buy them. I take a EU 48, US 15, GB14 and it works fairly well. I order them, they phone me and I go to the shop and see if I like them.

I also have wide feet. Depending on the manufacturer I'm 9.5 EEE to 10.5 EE. And I'm such a stickler about properly fitting shoes that I don't cut corners as SOOOO many salesmen have suggested "here, just try this Nike size 11..." Shove it, Schmoopy.
I'm due for new shoes. I've been looking at my work shoes lately and I'll have to replace them. I keep putting it off because every other time I've tried to shop for shoes in Europe it ends up being a Schmoopy encounter.
Thanks to Sky's suggestion though, I'll try to find some tailor-made shoes! (great idea!!!) If I find a cobbler I'll be sure to post it!

this site shows where to measure your foot to get European width,
Width E seems to be narrow here! G is normal & M is wide.
With the correct width you could begin to look online.

We have the same problem and suggest you go online - if you advise if the shoes are casual, sporty etc we could suggest some stores...

I used think I had wide feet until I went to a podiatrist and it turned out that I had forefoot varus which means that when I walk my heel role in a lot forcing my toes out and giving the impression that I have wider feet than I actually have.
Not saying that is the case of the people here but may be worth a check and you might be able to get shoes easier, I know I find buying shoes easier these days.

I'm looking for sporty shoes...running shoes or cross trainers similar to New Balance. I also buy casual leather outdoor shoes...nothing too extreme for galavanting across glaciers...just good, solid, waterproof shoes that keep a good grip on icy or slushy surfaces.

Clarks offer wide fitting shoes and here's the link to their stores in Switzerland - http://swissgerman.clarks.ch/store-l...iew-all-stores
By the way, I love New Balance cross trainers (in my case, for women) too. |

Theres a place in zurich called Sascha's shoe store, its by Baeckerstrasse 15 or look on the website www.saschas.ch. The shop only sells shoes for very big or wide feet. I get all my shoes there and they have a big range of shoes all of a really good quality. I suggest you check it out there

I can also recommend Sasha's , I get my casual and smart shoes out of there. They seemed to have a big selection of hiking type shoes, for those so inclined.

I checked out Sascha's website, and they seem to only carry shoes size 46 and above.

I also have 'slightly' larger than average feet and am a big fan of Lemo Schuh. If you can visit in person they are great, but if not their online store is super easy to use (by Swiss standards) and their range is excellent.
