when I joined this forum/about our move to Switzerland/France.

I realise now how hard it is going to be to find jobs, despite our good education's and experience. I understand better now the jobs market there and what employers are looking for....and it ain't me at the minute! I'm realistic about this now.

My husband is now looking for a few job here in Ireland, hopefully with a company who has a branch in Switzerland so he could potentially transfer one day. I am happy in my current job and am looking to build on my experience and improve my french also.

We still dream of the move and it will happen one day. We would rather it be sooner but I don't think it will happen within 1 year. More likely 2 now. But I don't mind. We both have a vision of what we want, what kind of a like we want for us and our 2 kids. I suppose we just have to keep reminding ourselves of that and keep looking. One day it will happen.

good luck. i'm still seeing lots of people relocate here, but granted many of them are relocating within the same company rather than a completely different move, so maybe your strategy will be a good one.

It's good to see someone who has been disappointed but doesn't blame the rest of the world. The job market here is hard going but, as MathNut said, keep your eyes open and you may strike lucky.

I've gotten feedback that my profile is really strong re looking for work, I may have to take a step up the ladder to get a job there but maybe that's what I will want then, not now.
