Battlefield 3 - in English?

Battlefield 3 comes out soon (in much of the world today but swiss retailers say 27 or 28). Anyone know if English is an option? The retailers such as digitec are listing 3 seperate skus for German/French/Italian but perhaps that is just the box/manual etc.. Anyone know if its possible to change to english or where I can buy a version in English?

Re: Battlefield 3 - in English?

Have you thought about getting a download option in English?
I installed EA's Origin software (it's like Steam) and have pre-downloaded it so I can give it a bash when I get in this evening.

I did think about that... just hoping Origin doesn't force you based on location (even though I have location in Origin set to USA it still knows since it charges me in Euro... which of course is way more expensive).

Amazon UK seems like a good price - will have to see how much for shipping and hope I don't get nailed by the wonderful import fees

http://www.wog.ch/

Great service, quick delivery, most games available in English.

Got my Fables and Final Fantasies from there. You will need to present proof that you are over 16 in certain games (probably Battlefield) but I highly recommend their site.

There you go:

Limited edition in English

I was able to select the language before I downloaded it and was charged in Euros.
Took a while to download mind, it's a 15GB file .
Oh yeah, and I think Amazon orders are now not charged import fees, though I might be wrong.

Re: Battlefield 3 - in English?

Thanks for all the pointers, I'll probably go with Origin for this one so I don't have to deal with waiting for shipping etc as my online friends around the world are already playing ... but now I have options for the many other goodies I want when I can afford them (Arkham City, Uncharted 3, Final Fantasy XIII-2 and maybe skyrim.. unsure if I would have enough free time for that beast)

Would like to really know the policy when it comes to Amazon - I've ordered from amazon.de and sometimes get the import slapped on there sometimes not (paying taxes is one thing and I'd happily pay but then they slap a 18ish chf admin fee on it makes it rediculous). If I stay at 30 euro or less range I've never been charged but games are more than that.

Re: Battlefield 3 - in English?

I've ordered 5 or 6 games from Amazon Uk and never been charged import duties.

All ordered individually. Remember even though the postage is more the VAT is taken off. It can even work out cheaper sometimes

Hate to spoil your day but I don't want you to rush home from work for nothing... origin client is saying 28/10/2011 so no go for today.

Just be careful its from amazon proper not another seller. My experience with the other sellers is you get nailed with the tax AND the import fee. I lost my camera charger and had to order on amazon.de from a third party and took the double hit - in all the taxes + fees cost way more than the charger but I was desperate (camera is worthless if you can't charge the battery).

That's pretty much the reason why I don't order games from Amazon.de, but still do with books. Last X-Mas I bought myself 20 books, and had to make 10 orders just to keep each under 30 euros.

If you don't have a mule to get stuff delievered to you from Germany, really take a look at the WOG (or the Origin, had never heard of it before).

Lucky! "gamer tag" I take it then you are on 360? Afraid I don't have that system, just PS3 and PC and I am going PC for BF3.

My id on Origin (which you need in order to play BF3) is

MysteryMachin- (someone already had MysteryMachine)

My id on PS3 is MysteryMachine. If you add me on PS3 though at least mention you are from EF and your EF name - its weird when you get random people adding you and wanting to talk (I frequently get adds from kids who love scooby doo LOL).

I only get invites from people who want to be as awesome as me in CoD.
