Re: What's it like living Basel

Most of the time, it's like living in a large'ish small town (where you may or may not be able to find things you used to get every day) with really fantastic public transport.

The rest of the time it is complete madness when FC Basel wins, when Herbstmess, Fasnacht or August 1st roll around. Yes, complete madness then.

Re: What's it like living Basel

Basel, like most places, will be dependent on what your interests are. If you enjoy the outdoors, the ease of getting to the countrysdie, walking, going skiing, climbing, cycling, being on the river ( canoe, kayak, rowing, dragonboat, sailing....) if you enjoy museums, instrumental music, cinema, ....... then you will like it. It has a lot of bars, cafes etc, some jazz, a varitey of other things.

If you are able to give us an idea on what your particular interests are, it may be easier for us to give an opinion. What do you expect? Hope to find here? And why Binningen in particular?
:-)
