Yup saw that about 9am, wondered when someone was going to post it.

Good news both ways, we get somewhere to smoke and everyone else doesn't have to sit in it. Smiles all round

This is great news, it pisses me off when I'm trying to enjoy my meal in a restaurant when some idiot a few tables down lights up his Cuban cigar. I enjoy a good Cuban from time to time but would never light up in a bar or restaurant out of respect for others.

Re: Parliament prepares last rites for smokers

I completely agree smoking should be banned in food prep/eating areas.

Sometimes like the other week the place hadn't thought it out very well.

They'd mixed the drinking + smoking and provided a tiny little area for non-smokers where obviously it would make no difference to air quality what so ever.

I think fumoirs are a very good idea. It allows us to feed our need without distrurbing others and being treated as lepers in winter.

I wonder the percentage of people in a fumoir vs non-smoking in a pub on a Friday/Saturday night though.

although the likely timelines are long, I for one will look forward to this. I went back to UK t'other w-end and the smoke free pub atmosphere was a vast improvement (even though it obviously has been disguising the rancid pub carpet puke and piss smell all these years)
