They can make space by kicking out that nasty smoker bar full of old geezers on the other end of the station.
That's gone. The Buvette is in a temporary shelter. The station is being turned into a small shopping mall.

As Mrs Doolittle said the Migros takeaway does good coffee as does the Spetaccolo next to the Swisscom shop.

Re: New Starbucks in Baden

I love Switzerland and Baden for its 'Swissness'. Why oh why is it turning into a mini USA/UK?

At the moment it feels more Swiss than my local town centre in the UK, it would be nice if it stayed that way.
PS Where did your cool drawing go OB?

Ahh!! Finally, Starbucks is coming to town. I think all at the bottom of your list are in striking distance, save for KFC

Re: New Starbucks in Baden

And while we're putting in requests, a TGI Friday and a Harry Ramsden wouldn't go amiss.

If you could open up a Mumtaz too, I'd probably never leave Baden.

TAI.

Re: New Starbucks in Baden

There are big posters under the train station advertising that tomorrow is the official opening. Anyone know the opening hours? Unless it is really early I can't make it.

Does Starbucks have any specials on the opening day. Are they giving away anything?

I was asked to consult with Starbucks years ago to find a suitable location in Baden. One of the locations that was rejected was what is now Burger King. Personally I think this location is better.

So shall we start a Starbucks meet up for the Baden crowd?

PS Where did your cool drawing go OB?

Baden & Swissness ? Are you aware of the fact that Baden would not be what it is without those two engineers, a Brit and an Italian ? That Starbucks is the enterprise which resulted from impressions and ideas a US-American of German roots had in MILANO ? That Migros is based on ideas Gottlieb Duttweiler got in various places abroad ?

And important people ? Mr Nestle was from Baden-Württemberg, Mr Baur (Baur-en-Lac) from Austria, Mr Maggi from Italy. Messrs Bindella (restaurants) and Marinello (shops) were Italians.

THIS is what "Swissness" is all about. That mix of traditional ways mixed with imports from everywhere !
