Using it to correct a non-native speaker, on the other hand... |

OK, maybe he's just joking. There must be something funny about this thread after all.

Good post though.. | | | | | Perhaps, but quite relevant too in the present culture of Woke banning of anything that may offend someone and historical revisionism in the interests of diversity.

The mods can delete the fluff so he's probably making sure some of them will stick.
As for the present culture....there's not only one anyway.

I (personally) wasn't offended by this thread or by any post here....just for your knowledge. I thought its resurrection is kind of weird and thought someone i.e. redbanner could be also trolling/stirring the pot. Have seen this pattern before.
Wasn't this supposed to be against the forum's rules or do they change as we go?
Just saying.

I mean, everyone says so, who am I to deny or challenge their convictions.

@Redbanner, why this apparently not-so-random thread resurrection? Do you have something to sell or.....something to say? | | | | | I was curious about the topic of militaria sales in CH and rather than create a new thread I did a search instead and replied to an existing thread. I thought that was the preferred way here?
If not (i.e. can't reply to old threads, can't create new threads where old threads on the topic already exists) then over time the topics of new threads will just get increasingly exotic (anybody interested to discuss the mating habits of the spotted green Peruvian forest frog?).

One of them did a genealogy test and discovered his origins are a tad Polish.

| | Re: Nazi memorabilia sold in a local VD store | Quote: | | | | | I agree with those who think we should separate historic interest from present endorsement. | | | | | So do I, but as OP used to think of this subject 8 years ago, I also believe collecting nazi stuff is kind of disturbing...of course there are exceptions and some totally legit reasons. Don't think resurrecting this thread is totally innocent though.
As for commie stuff.....for some it's equally controversial/disturbing or in bad taste. For some reason, it doesn't really upset (most) people as much though. Long debate to be held here..

But seriously where is the problem about nazi stuff, the movement was dumped in the bin of history 75 years ago and at the end of the day your run of the mill garden verity nazi was just a person like you and me, Also donīt forget that Hitlerīs politics were pretty much mainstream at the time.

Bad taste or ignorance is a che guevara T-shirt | | | | | I have a commie medal I actually bought in Budapest. Probably a fake but maybe not, seeing its stamped out some very light metal which is the wrong colour to be aluminium, and came in a red plastic box.
