The Bundeswehr has its own very special history when it comes to PR blunders and shooting themselves in the foot.

Like wasn't there a time they searched a barracks for Nazi memorabilia and seized a portrait of what they assumed to be a Nazi but which turned out to be Helmut Schmidt.

That is acutally quite interesting, the picture in question was of Schmidt in a Wehrmacht uniform, he served with a anti aircraft battery before going to the eastern front and was a military observer for Freisler´s show-trials.
So technically, yes they did take a picture of a nazi down.
