I (personally) wasn't offended by this thread or by any post here....just for your knowledge.
Did I suggest you were offended anywhere?

I thought its resurrection is kind of weird and thought someone i.e. redbanner could be also trolling/stirring the pot. Have seen this pattern before.

Wasn't this supposed to be against the forum's rules or do they change as we go?
Maybe it was against the forum's rules, but if someone resurrects a zombie thread and it continues running for multiple posts or even pages, without intervention, it ceases to be a zombie thread and gains its own life, making your observation moot.

I always thought that they were a cesspool of the extreme left.

Nit picking here a tad but that is actually an adaptation of the Balkenkreuz first used at the end of WW1 right into the Weimarer Repubik, itīs called a patte Kreuz and is a symbol dating back to the crusades and used by the teutonic knights.
If you want to nit pick do you have to get the facts straight: its not an "adaption" of the Balkenkreuz, but a move back to the Prussian Tatzenkreuz - the shape of the iron cross.

Anyways: here is what the highest German medal issued by our president looks like... it even comes with the same sort of neck band: https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verdie...ik_Deutschland

Be careful with Nazi memorabilia. The movie clip below shows that misunderstandings can easily happen.

Uuuuh! I got my facts straight. The Tatzenkreuz is the Pattee Kreutz as I said, itīs just another name for it. The Tatzen part comes from the spread ends, looking like a Tatze (Pfote) or paw.
However the Bundesverdienstkreuz is not a true military medal like the iron cross is or was but can be awarded to anybody who has deserved it.
The Iron Cross was used untill 1945, however thanks to a decree from Theodor Heuss, WW2 soldiers who had been awarded it could have a new one made in the pattern of 1939 without the swastika but instead with oakleaves.

What is that supposed to mean, MC? I am not assuming anything, I'll ask you directly.

It would be, perhaps, easier to have an exchange if we knew what are you talking about.
