Reminds me of the BK one a while ago:

I expect the clever, clever man who thought of this was extremely pleased with himself.

Only 17cm
"17 cm" sounds so pointless (for want of a better word). Here I think it's a strong case for using the imperial system for such adverts.

"7 inches" sounds a lot better than "17 cm". They'll start using decimals next...

"Launching the new, meatier Bratwurst - 15.789 cm of taste. Buy it today, at lunch time, at around 11.37...!"

Actually, I can't relate to 7 inches, but 17 cm can be quite... pictury... (specially because I know how many cm my hand is, but have no idea how much an inch is...) If you have lived your whole life with the metric system, I guess 17, 32 or 54 don't look like "ugly incomplete" numbers.

Interesting, seven inches is near enough 17cm; must be the same ad agency

Growing up the UK in the 80s I was also brought up in the metric system and was never taught any imperial (except as a history lesson!) but I think in some cases using the metric system in certain circumstances makes something sound incongruously geeky.

The 17 cm hot dog must be the best for kilometers around...

It's a bit like being caught in a romantic tryst and killing the passion with a one-liner such as "Oooh, you make me feel like I'm walking 3.048 metres off the ground!"

Let's face it, computer hardware (3 1/2" disks, 25" screens, 600 dots/inch resolution etc.) plus porn movies (mostly made guess where) are the main means of the imperial system to recapture the world. And it works.
