Single men don't have children in their lives???
I have to agree here... My daddy was the one always buying the X-Mas presents for me, usually with the company of my very single male cousin.

It doesn't make them creeps walking alone, childless and single in the girly toy department...

Keep your wits about you - and bag in front of you.
Excellent advice. These days I have to keep everything on my lap on the train....no more bags on the spare set. I refuse to put my bag on the overhead rack.

I have a shoulder purse that can be worn front or back, I choose the front. I take crowed trains, often no seat and I am not letting my bag out of my sight.

Re: Handbag slashed on Zurich Tram

It's so sad to see Switzerland going down the hill towards the same position of its european neighbours... these kinds of things were very weird even 4 years ago, but now...

I even got stolen my whole bag precisely 3 weeks ago, in Zurich too, fortunately I had the wallet and the phone with me, but still...

And sadly, that's caused by immigration. It's hard to admit it, but if I were Swiss I would probably vote UDC...

Women don't slash and grab?

Wow talk about stereotypes.
Wow talk about jumping into conclusion.... When you see them walking slowly, following people without giving a single glance to the goods, while making gesture to an other guy following someone else and you see the guy following him/ her, it is kind of obvious.

Were they women? nope. At that time, that place they were men. Was it obvious, yes if you stand aside and observe the scene.

...but you said "single men". You did not say "suspiciously behaving men".

Seriously, Nil. You made a gross generalization and a gross stereotype. It wasn't worth groaning me for calling a spade a spade. And since you did find their activity suspicious as you described it, did you report it to a store employee? or a police officer? security guard? anyone?

This time of The year is even worst. I was in a store yesterday in the kids section and I could see single men walking around. One followed me and checked the potential of what he could get but sadly for him I didn't have any bags and my son's stuff were in the basket under the stroller. My money and my phone on me.

My suggestion is to avoid any fancy bags and avoid them totally if possible. Keep the minimum cards and money on you.
Is there somewhere where I said ALL and ONLY single men were following people?

Nope, I said I could see single men following people.

what is their marital status, I have no idea. But when I saw those specific single men, they were alone and following people.

One guy followed a woman with a stroller and change direction to follow and other woman.

Well, excuse my English, I didn't use the proper words. My bad.

Yes I did tell the women working on the floor and they told me they were aware of them. Undercover security agent are keeping an eye on them but too often they are not able to catch them because they are fast and professional, they know when to act in a very subtil way.

Stereotype? Me? Well, it is definitely my style... you should know that from me by now.
