omg,

I have to say I have done my make up in the train few times......

karina
in swiss trains you find usually WC with mirror, water and you can lock it. Why don't you and other women use it? Same questions applies to men who need to remove facial hair

OMG! Just imagine if someone did drugs and then put on make up on a train! You'd all get so offended you'd start involuntarily spluttering. I'd just lie back and watch the hot mess.

Re: Applying "Make up" in the train

I do not mind girls/ladies doing makeup in the train; since my wife does not use make up, i even find it interesting every now and then.

However, what I find disgusting is that some people cut their fingernails in public and do not even bother to throw the spoils to garbage bin. Twice I found cut finger-nails in the ICtrain between Zurich and Bern on the floor.

Re: Applying "Make up" in the train

My Momma taught me it is rude to attend to private matters in public.

This would apply to all makeup (with the exception of descretely applying lipstick or a brief swipe of a powder puff), removal of body or facial hair, polishing or filing nails and NEVER should your fingers enter a body orifice - especially a nostril!!!

No, I'm not that old. I was just taught proper manners

*Oh, and never take your shoes off in the train!

Or getting it wrong, snorting blusher and putting coke on your cheeks may well be excuse for complaint or ridicule

As a follow up for da laydeez:

Men 'adjusting their package' in public. Yes? No? Mind your own business?
Mind you, 'adjusting your package' is an essential part of male health.

That's not even questionable.

For a man, that's equivalent to straightening a loose hair.

That is why some people prefer to do their make-up ...... beats spending idle time identifying litter on the floor....?

Its fun to imitate ladies, as they put on the lispstick, while eagerly looking at them... making O with your lips... well it happens un-intentionally, I swear

I remember sitting on a French beach one summer around lunch time. We were having a family picnic when a very sophisticated looking young lady came on to the beach in her office clothes and sat down next to us. It was a very nice day so we thought nothing unusual when she removed her suit to sunbathe until she then pulled some tweezers from her handbag to pluck out her bikini line - dropping the errant hairs onto the sand next to where we as a family of four were eating our sandwiches.

yuck yuck
it didn't matter how glam she looked again 30mins later when she put her suit back on ------

Culture shock. Yes, I am going to have some.
Umm...this is kind of well...its just that I thought that French women liked to be well...natural. I am now alternating between wanting to go directly to that French beach and disgust...

I don't see what's so personal about applying make up. She's fully dressed and she's not invading your space with body parts.
I couldn't put it in any better words.

Re: Applying "Make up" in the train

I'm sorry but whoever thinks doing make-up in public is equivalent to "taking a shower", or something equally personal on that level, has clearly lost the plot. Just when I think EF has plumbed new lows in the area of pointless threads of things to whinge about, another surprise turns up.
