Hi Philippe
I know that the Swiss are nor really interested in rugby but therefore are the English pubs essential.
I don’t know where you are living but if you are living around ZH I really can recommend the PW http://www.pickwick.ch/zuerich/index.html
My friends (from SA) and me we were there for the rugby WC in 2002 and they even served food in the morning.

Which team are you supporting?
It is a pity that Ireland went home so early. There was a huge expectation on them here in Ireland.

Good luck and enjoy

Don't really have a favourite, just like a good game!

The Twist has a great atmosphere but can get very crowded, very quickly.

There's also the Lyon Bar near Rennweg and of course Paddy Reilly's (ex-Noble Dubliner). I myself will probably be at the latter for England tomorrow.

How quickly is quickly?

What time you recommend getting there? if the game starts at 21:00.

You have to be at the Twist especially early nowadays as they have closed the outside terrace for sporting events, the neighbours were getting a bit annoyed. Which I can understand, but its still a shame...

I was amazed to see people lining up outside Paddy's on saturday night. We were actually helping people we knew to climb in through the window! And this was just for Terry's Exeter game. It got even more crazy once the rugby started.

Saturday night in the Twist was great, a test on ones bladder capacity as the bar was so packed there was no way of making it back to your patch. The queue for the mens toilet was half way up the stairs at half time! Just like being at the game! Good number of Les Blues and Brits making it a top night. This saturday should be fantastic with many SA fans in attendance.

I've just heard that the Twist has a special allowance to keep the beer garden open for the final on Saturday ...

Re: Rugby World Cup in Zurich

tis true indeed. i'm gonna be in there for saturday too. you would want to be in about 7 but at least with the beer garden open for sports again you will be able get to the bar with ease .........and that is crucial!!

Ah, well done. I'll probably be in the Hamiltons, depending on where all my mates are...

Me too... I'll probably be running late, and don't expect I'd get into Paddy's after seeing the late queues last week.

Does anybody know anywhere it'll be shown other than the usual selection... Twist, Nelson, Lady Ham, Paddys, Lion?
