| | Petticoat Dresses - Where to buy in CH?
Dear Ladies (and it's obviously you I am mainly addressing) petticoats are back! And I am dying to buy a nice summer dress with a petticoat. I have searched the internet for hours and hours, but what I basically find are short dresses, evening dresses, wedding dresses, mini-dirndls, and that's not what I'm looking for. Furthermore, I would really like to see, feel, and try on a dress before I buy it. Switzerland may be a little late on this, but maybe one of you has seen or knows a store where you can get nice petticoat summer dresses for the, err, not so much teeenager-any-more-woman.
Thank you! |

ok... so maybe it's a guy thing... but I don't really see a difference between those two.
more frou-frou in the bottom one?
p.s. -- mrs. and I were in Brighton over New Years and there were petticoat dresses everywhere.. some even in the shops.

So glad you added pictures. Your post was troubling me but now I'm getting a grown up, glamerous 1950's housewife sort of vibe .... | This user would like to thank ecb for this useful post:

Petticoats are the fluff underneath each dress & are usually bought separate from the dress. If they can be found in CH, I suspect they'd be in that one store that sort of looks like a Hot Topic (sells goth / stripper wear). Otherwise, PM me. Maybe we can arrange to have me make one for you.
As for locating stores that sell cute 50's dresses in CH: good luck. Even in the States, I had to buy those online |

This one has the petticoat too if you need another one.
ETA: Wait, what's the difference between the first & the second picture?

MacGregor's daughter, you are on a roll! This thread has cheered me up big time. I am sentimental about the 50s fashion.
Speking of good wholesome housewifery , will you also be looking for an apron dress? I've heard it will be all the rage in the spring/summer 2012. | This user would like to thank Sagitta for this useful post:

Just came across this: http://www.collectif.co.uk/l1-clothes.html
And thought you might be interested. Imelda May is supposed to buy from them. | Quote: | | | | | Dear Ladies (and it's obviously you I am mainly addressing) petticoats are back! Mine fits & is cut better though. Or at least I don't hold it out in a weird way like she's doing.

Also, ebay has lots of these dresses: http://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_nk....c0.m270.l1313
