Just dintinguish two things.

One is the appreciation of beauty. External female beauty. This is like an observation of art. That we males do in an aroused state off course. but it ends there, and is just an easy and harmless amusement.

Another is the appreciation of a woman as a whole, her personality, her brains. As a person. This takes a lot more involvement and respect, and is way more interesting and deep than the other.

i am currently on the second one with some special ones.

But this doesn't deprive us to the simple and casual pleasure of the first.
I love this...Well put!

Stuff like that happens quite a lot. I'll be at a bar or some place and a guy will chat me up, we're talking for say 5-10 minutes. Guy asks "So what do you do" I answer "I'm a research scientist, I just finished my PhD" Guy walks away. Not kidding, has happened at least 10-15 times.

This never works - I agree with Dave, say you work in a lab.

If there's a follow-up question, you work in a research lab, if there's another, tell him you study xxxx... My experience is that the follow-up question won't come for at least 24 hours or the first meal - and likely a lot later than that. In the meantime, he knows more about you than a job title and a degree - which is surely more important anyway.

I look at it this way: Answer the question truthfully; and don't bother with unnecessary details that will be provided later.

I think this is junk IMHO, its like delaying the course of action.

If she lies then eventually it will reach the point where he will walk anyway.

Additonally why shouldnt she be proud of her efforts???

Cause lets face it if they walk away in 15 mins they must be pretty shallow in the first place..

Would you want a relationship with someone that hollow brained?

Haha I am definately not threatened by this, however anyone who obviously knows "bloody everything" obviously doesnt!!

Thats a sheer impossibility
I used the term on purpose, because, as you say correctly, nobody knows everything or excels in all areas, but some people find it hard to accept that someone may know a little bit more than them about certain things and are unable to see where their own strengths lie.

Re: Why are ladies in Switzerland so attractive?

Honestly, I'm not interested in any body with whom I would need tread lightly with concerning that kind of stuff. Guys either like it or they don't and I've never had any problem with finding guys who like it.

So what should I do when I become of professor and I meet a guy, should I just tell him I work at the university so he can assume I'm a secretary or something and it won't threaten his manly intelligence?

Hardly, my education is very National Geographic TV based this days. Unless you want obscure facts from Psychology or Cultural Anthropoly.

I do so wish it worked differently, but as she pointed out, it doesn't. It kills the conversation and the woman never gets to find out if they'd like to get to know him more...or if he's really hollow brained. Some men don't react like this, (thank God) but in a social situation it's often a conversation killer.

note: I didn't say lie: I just suggest to spare the details in the first reply. Of course she should be proud of her accomplishment - but that's besides the point.

And - no, I prefer a smart man, who can make me laugh, and hold up their side of a dinner conversation, among other things...

Not really. I was more interested in the ears bleeding comment

Honestly, It's just me I love to learn new stuff regardless of subject. What is the matter with people, why be like this about learning?

Just because I don't know something it's no threat to me, if anything it's a bonus. Free learning.

I'll swop you car mechanics + shop floor filth 101, + pyromanic tendencies for beginners part 3

Not if you're me it wouldn't that's a challenge or a red rag to a bull

First question.

"Have you thoughts on a moral consiquences of sleeping with someone on a first date? Or do you need further research material to confirm your philosophies?"

So easily attacked with humour

The alternate course is that, fascinated by the clever bird, the guy stays on. You enter into a relationship. After a while, threatened by the fact that you just know bloody everything and make him feel like he can barely read and write, albeit unintentionally, he starts putting you down to make himself feel better. I've had it happen and seen it happen more often than I care to think of.

Women also discriminate like that... Even more (man tend to care more about the size of your hooters.) Tell them you work in a lab and right away they think you must be a boring nerd with a 70-150K salary range. Or you can tell them you used to be a drummer in a Top20 band or used to be a professional Tennis player.
