Re: Motor Show Geneva

I have 3 invitations for that date -

Motor Show, Basleworld & Crufts in the UK!!! They all start on the 8th March.

Will be at Basleworld for a few days.. ( though I fancy Crufts more than the Motor Show)!!

Re: Motor Show Geneva

No, i will not, because I like the show as it earlier was (10-15 years ago).
No silly dancing around new cars, nothing rubbish ......
Earlier there have been only cars, that is it...........
The show lasted longer (around 10 days) what gave the people more opportunities to visit the show, it wasn't so crowded like it is today....
The show is still open for 11 days, but is not the same as it earlier was......

Re: Motor Show Geneva

Yes you are maybe right. Maybe the dancing and the girls is what attracts the people. I always find it a bit frustrating drooling over cars that I could never afford to buy- Ferraris and the like.

Re: Motor Show Geneva

I went twice because I received free tickets but I wouldn't choose to go anymore as it is always extremely crowded and the air isn't too good inside the venue. Some parts created such a bottle neck, that people weren't able to move forward nor backwards for that matter. IMO, this can't be too save as panic could easily breakout etc. Another thing that bugged me, was that every parent had to take a pic of their kid sitting in the front seat of every car....

Seems the only thing people were interested aside from dancing and girls were free goodies bags etc...

Re: Motor Show Geneva

I've been there 2 times a few years ago.

it was already super crowded. They were 2 parts:
-1 for expensives vehicules and new models or concept cars
-1 for tuning and accessories.

I would not come back, it's too crowded and I feel there's nothing interesting anymore, there's no interest for me to go there again.

But maybe it's ok for the 1st time to see new cars or that show?

Re: Motor Show Geneva

I'm a car fanatic, and at these things tend to focus more on the cars than the girls. I may have a chance at getting a ticket, so I'll be checking it out if I can!

Question is, will there be any interesting cars? I like British cars, but that doesn't seem to be much of a concept anymore (naturally with a few exceptions). I also like American cars, but due to their financial and management problems they're not doing much more than rebadging German and Italian cars. Saab was cool, but ...

Maybe Alfa will do something interesting??

Let's face it, cars don't have much character these days...

Re: Motor Show Geneva

I'll be going with a friend, so my cattle prod is charging and I have requested a days supply of non-prescription meds from our local eastern European gangsta... any one got a handle on free tickets to ease the pain?

Re: Motor Show Geneva

Do not know about crowds but for a quick tour it is worth going after 4pm when the tickets are 50% off...
