Vive la Revolution Neuchatel

A day off tomorrow for all those in the Neuchatel area, to celebrate the success of the Revolution against Berlin and Prussia, and the final and full adherence to the Swiss Confederation. And also to celebrate the day when absinthe, a local product from the Val-de-Travers, was again deemed legal after a very long ban, on 1st of March 2005.
Mind you, many of the local still produce some illegal absinthe just for the fun of it- and somehow it always seems to taste better. Santé

Re: Vive la Revolution Neuchatel

Just spent the day in Neuch - what amazing lovely and warm weather. Everybody sitting out on Café Terrasses, by the lake, on the grass- lovely atmosphere. How lucky for once that the week was fabulously sunny for the school holidays.

Re: Vive la Revolution Neuchatel

Anyway, the first of March in Neuchâtel without either snow or rain isn't right. You are supposed to suffer when you walk from La Tchaux to Neuch to celebrate the revolution .
