Welcome/bienvenue and happy to hear you are enjoying it so far. Other members will soon be over in droves to tell you the honeymoon will soon be over and that you will soon realise what an awful and terrible place this is.

Here's some recommendations.

Clubs & Bars:

Halles de l'ile :A place to hangout with lots of expats
L'aiglon :Nice sort of underground bar with lots of Genevoise, best for pre-parties, you get to know about the best parties there
Le Cabinet: A little place, not bad to goto from time to time
Weetamix Nice club, bit out of center and not so frequent parties but good ones when it's on
Zoo Usine: Really underground with all the good and bad that comes with it, various styles too.
Milk Klub : Cool club, lineup is really great but security are totally bullocks

For the restaurants, there's way too many to mention but can tell you recommendations based on your taste.

One thing about Geneva, if you wanna have real fun, you gotta hang out with Genevoise....that's how you discover the beauty of this city

I love it too!

It has shown me, in my weekest moments that - its there for me........ I came here when I was at the lowest point of my life, had no wish for anything nor anyone, lost my..........zest ....for life..........and hey- it gave me a hand step by step........... No racism, no pressure, full support!
so I say- Its more than any country has ever done for me.........plus all the positives about it Enjoy !!!

Re: I love Switzerland!

For the records, I am NOT gay looool, just happy! And what the f%^&* if I can't say possitive things these days when there are so many negative news, then when can I say it?!?

I've hit rock bottom, I've had really really bad moments in my life, I've lost dear and loved people in my life. I've done all the bad jobs, and resented the fact that I work there....done it, seen it. I am for the first time in my life really really happy. People, we do not know how lucky we really are. Think of the grunts still working in the trenches....c'mon, we have it good!

Exactly! The people are so open, a foreign accent here is nothing! Heck, everybody speaks with a foreign accent! They are so accepting. No racism, no stress like you said and full support, that is exactly my experience. When you've scraped the bottom of the barrel so long you have splinters.....it's nice to be floating at the top again!

and it's snowing! At least where I am. Making me want to stay inside and watch the flakes come down. Good thing I can!

Welcome and may the honeymoon period not end, just evolve! Although there will be moments...

Life is a just one big revolving door in any case!

I teach kids how to swim, I get good days, very good days, and as always there are 1 or 2 kids who, test my limits to say the least. All-in-all I love it. You can't imagine how happy I am when I see a kid of 5 who was afraid of water, after 2 or 3 lessons, smile, and swim on his/her own with confidence.

All-in-all fantastic experience working in Geneva! Wouldn't live there though, too expensive!
