Here, what happens is, you get asked to go for coffee. When you say no, they say "oh, but I wanted to have sex with you"...
Seriously??

Just in case you really tell her to get pepper spray...i think you need a gun licence for that in switzerland :-)

Naw, you just need to have a valid residence permit, and you're good to go.
I'm not even sure about that.... I bought some pepper spray a number of years ago to give to a friend who was starting what proved to be a messy divorce.

anywho... I walked into the corner pepper spray shop and shown all the options... I pointed to the one I wanted to buy and the nice gent behind the counter just told me to fill out my name and address on this form.

it was obvious to me that he didn't care which name and address so long as he had a completed form and no, he never asked me for any form of i.d.

I'd suggest having her wear a bra, it's a cultural thing.

Sorry to put it this way, but you don't have a woman do anything! IT IS A CULTURAL THING. You might tell her it would be a good idea, you might suggest it, but you don't have her do anything.

"Pfeffersprays dürfen nur an Käufer über 18 Jahren gegen Identitätsnachweis und Unterschrift abgegeben werden."

Sorry I got the thing with the gun licence wrong.
In germany they ask you why you wanne buy it. And if you answer anything else than "I want to protect myself agains dogs"...they don't sell it to you.

again it must be the location and the culture... I was asked why I wanted it and explained that I was going to give it to a friend who was afraid of her husband... as above they sold it to me no problem and gave me a few self-defense tips to pass on to her.

[n.b... turns out the pepper spray was very effective.. short sharp shock]

I'm probably going to be unpopular for saying this but is there any chance she is possibly crying wolf to get your attention? Is she maybe lonely or after more from you than friendship and this is her way of getting you to pay attention?
I did think about it and realised that, this is not the case; because I did not get any hint whilst talking to her that she need my attention.

Quote:

If not, you really need to try to find out what she is doing differently to attract this attention.
She does nothing differently. She always dressed up decently (nothing provocative at all) and stay engaged with her iPod.

I have noticed that when we are together, people still stare at her to which I generally respond (discreetly) to shut those guys up.

I'm not saying that anyone's behaviour warrants being harassed, it just seems strange that it happens so often to her.
I suppose she is paying the price of being attractive (big green eyes).

What are you seeing when you have arrived to "rescue" her? Has she been able to point out the person/people whom she says is/are following her? If not, why not?
Yes she did point out to the person. In most of the cased 'he' just disappears and in a few cases person stays and my conversation with him ends like, "Sorry, It will not happen again, I did not mean to offend her but not been able to take my eyes off her" OR "You wanna fight?"

Note: I do not want to sound like racist or something but most of the guys are either Tunisian or Turkish.

This to me means either an attention requirement situation, or a paranoia situation.
It certainly sounds that way, but remember -Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean the world isn't out to get you.

You're in Switzerland. People stare. Get used to it. Also, if they aren't saying anything, why the need to respond however discreetly? Wouldn't that be her job if she was bothered by it? Or are you actually trying to curry her favor?

Put a ring on her and get her pregnant.

That should take care of those nasty, pesky, staring southern male foreigners.
